Mardi Gras |
The mystery of Mardi Gras in New Orleans, Louisiana and its tragic/comic atmosphere inspires these works. “Throw Me Sumpthin’, Mister” is showered with a variety of trinkets thrown from the floats during the Mardi Gras Parades. “The King and His Doubloons” has a scattering of the commemorative tokens thrown by Mardi Gras clubs participating in the parades and formal balls. “The Captain and His Krewe” is titled for the leader of a carnival club and members of his club. . |
